Accessing & Viewing Boards Starting a New Topic Replying to an Existing Topic

Accessing & Viewing the Message Boards

You can access the Message Boards by clicking on the

link, on the navigation menu at the left of your screen. This will take you to a complete listing of the Message Boards for this group.

*Note: In some cases, there may be a link to a popular message board (ie. Poetry Forum) on the navigation menu. In such a case, you may click on that specific link to bypass the complete message boards listing.

Once you have clicked on the Message Boards link, you will see a listing like this.

Simply scroll down the page, and click on the title of the message board that you would like to view.

After clicking on the message board title, you will see a list of the discussions on that message board.

Click on the title of a specific discussion to view the original message as well as any replies that have been posted to it.

There are only 15 posts per page of a topic thread, therefore, some more popular topics may have multiple pages of replies. To access the multiple pages, you may either click on a page number, directly beneath the topic name, on the list of topics...

or you can also find 'Go to page', 'Next', and 'Previous' page links located on the right hand side of the screen, at the top and bottom of each page of a thread...

You may also wish to move between topics, without returning to the topic list page, by clicking on the 'View Previous Topic' and 'View Next Topic' links, also located on the right hand side of the screen, at the top and bottom of each topic page...

Starting A New Topic

To start a new discussion, first click on the 'new topic' link, at the top of the message board.

After clicking on this link, you will be taken to the posting screen...

Type a Subject/Title for your post, in the designated space. This is required when starting a new topic.

Type your actual message into the larger text area. Use the tools above the text area or basic HTML tags to customize your post to your liking.

If you’d like to see how your post looks before you actually post it to the boards, you can click on the Preview button, at the bottom of your posting screen…

A preview of your post will appear at the top of the page… If you would like to make changes before posting, simply scroll down to where you were typing your message and make the desired changes. Once you’re done editing, you may either preview your post again, or if you are satisfied that it is ready to post, simply click the ‘Submit’ button.

Your message will then be posted to message board, and you will be taken to a page with a message that looks like this…

You may choose to go to either your message or to the main page of the forum where your message was posted. If you do not click an option, within a few seconds, you will be automatically redirected to your posted message.

Replying to an Existing Topic

With your page open to a specific message board, click on the Subject/title of the discussion you'd like to reply to.

You will then be able to view the original post, as well as any replies that have been posted. When you are ready to reply, click on the ‘post reply’ button, at the top left of the discussion.

This will take you to a screen that is very similar to the ‘new topic’ screen… except without the option of adding a ‘poll’ to your post.

Including a ‘Subject’ is optional for replies… You may type a subject/title if you wish, or you may choose to leave it blank.

Type your actual message into the larger text area. Use the tools above the text area or basic HTML tags to customize your post to your liking.
